Eco Expo Asia 2024: Unveiling new energy innovations for a carbon-zero future
At the beginning of the decade, China unveiled its goal to reach peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. The country has been making efforts towards this end ever since, with new measures outlined recently including setting quotas for polluting industries, and introducing “carbon label certifications” on products. This is only one piece of the puzzle however, as investments in alternative forms of energy are also crucial to ensure a cleaner and more sustainable world, and in this regard, China has also made great strides. According to a report by the China Electricity Council, by the end of 2024, wind and solar energy are projected to make up over 40% of China’s total installed power generation capacity. The country’s involvement in hydrogen is also expected to increase, with output predicted to reach RMB 1 trillion (around USD 139 billion) by 2025.
With the shared goal of a sustainable future, Eco Expo Asia connects Mainland China with the international community. The fair also brings together industry players, academics and government officials from across Asia and the world, fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and facilitating the development of green technologies and sustainable solutions. Running under the theme of “Fostering Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, Eco Expo Asia 2024 will once again gather the leading players from across a wide variety of green industries to help create a more sustainable future. The debut of the “New Energy and Energy Efficiency” zone marks a significant milestone in promoting the proliferation of innovative energy technologies and energy-efficient solutions that shape the energy landscape towards a more sustainable and low-carbon future.
